The Niseko Promotion Board located in the Niseko alpine region of Hokkaido requires a results driven bilingual Resort Board Coordinator.
The objectives of the Niseko Promotion Board is to promote Niseko as a year round Alpine Lifestyle destination, appealing to both the international and domestic visitor whilst working to improve overall resort infrastructure.
Promotion would be activated in both Japan, Asia and key western markets including Australia. Infrastructure improvements would involve working with the board to identify short and long-term needs of the region.
The board consists of both Japanese and western members from organisations within the region including the Niseko United ski resorts. One of the primary objectives of the board is to source government grants in support of the region and improvements to infrastructure. The role requires applicants with a senior skill set with the capacity to manage the needs of different groups and a strong strategic mindset to help identify solutions that are relevant to the regions overall approach.
Niseko is currently recognised as a ski resort region, the mission of the board is to create awareness of Niseko as a 4-season destination and the successful candidate would be responsible for driving this awareness and increasing visitors.
The person should be confident and experienced in the process of identifying opportunities for Niseko via avenues of promotion, marketing and PR. Essential to this role is someone who is highly creative with not only a strong analytical and business strategy discipline, but who also loves to be involved in the details of implementation.
The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of the fast moving nature of the region and be prepared to see projects from inception to completion, which may include on-ground activations. It’s a role for someone who is not afraid to get his or her hands dirty, delegators need not apply.
Anticipated marketing projects includes managing web-based activity, continuing with existing activities such as walking maps and restaurant guides plus identifying new activities including grass roots ideas such as local fresh produce markets.
Improvements to infrastructure would be identified and achieved with direction from the Board. The successful candidate would be responsible for working with the Board and also local business to promote Niseko to key government bodies and external tourist associations. An overall marketing and infrastructure plan will be the first project and will be created with input from key board members.
The applicant will also be required to deal with designers, producers, suppliers and other specialists in addition to the Resort Board members and be competent in providing briefs and controlling outcomes. The successful applicant needs to be effervescent, friendly and importantly, time efficient.
As the Resort Board Coordinator, the person should be skilled with the administration requirements of business, including planning, reports, budgets, and billings and be exceptionally computer literate.
The successful candidate will develop, implement and manage all initiatives and budgets with several years experience in a results driven role this individual will have a passion for results driven activity.
In short - we are looking for a coordinator with high-level skills who wants to take off the suit and come and play in an Alpine arena. The role will be challenging and enormously rewarding for the appropriate candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-High level fluency in Japanese and English of a business standard is mandatory
-Minimum 4 years management experience, this is a senior role
-Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience in the development of proposals and budgets
-Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience in the development of project management plans, key steps and deadlines
-Project management capability to ensure timely execution of programs and campaigns
-Proven PR skills and ability to write press releases will be highly regarded
-Team Management with the ability to lead and motivate individuals to achieve results
-A good understanding of the marketing & promotion process
-Excellent sales/presentation skills & experience
-Excellent Japanese/English communication skills essential (written & verbal)
-Experience in the marketing field will be highly regarded
